Phil is a founding partner of Centrus and draws upon 20 years of investment banking and advisory experience across derivatives, commercial banking, structuring and debt capital markets. He has advised a range of well-known companies on funding strategies, re-negotiations & capital raisings. Phil previously worked in the Infrastructure division of RBC Capital Markets and the Fixed Income division of Hambros Bank.What you didn't know about Phil
Hobbies & Interests
As well as spending time with his wife and children, Phil enjoys keeping fit and practicing yoga which he has enjoyed for many years. He also enjoys skiing and getting out on his kayak in Wales in the summer months. Phil played rugby for many years and being a lifelong supporter of Welsh Rugby and Swansea City football club he has learned to take the rough with the smooth.
Little known facts? Phil once owned a wine bar in South London which got a decent review in Time Out but didn’t make any money! In his junior days at Hambros Bank, he established a certain notoriety as a result of a boozy drinks reception, a borrowed camera and a fax machine (you’ll have to ask him for the details…). He dislikes over-zealous traffic wardens and over-complicated procurement processes in equal measure and has been known to send emails around Centrus about poor grape etiquette in the meeting room!
His favourite quote is from Theodore Roosevelt:
